The Omicron Patient Who Lives In The Green Bay Apartment Is Not Uncooperative, But An Overnight Evacuation

JAKARTA - The police stated that the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 patient was confirmed based on the results of the PCR test. The patient has a history of travel from outside the region.

"Last night, we confirmed from the sub-district health center that there were residents in the screening, precisely at the Green Bay Apartment tower L, 7th floor AD. It was based on Omicron's positive PCR results," said Metro Penjaringan Police Chief AKBP Febri Isman Jaya when contacted, Tuesday, December 28.

Febri denied reports that the patient refused to undergo quarantine. Because, what actually happened the patient was cooperative.

However, the evacuation process could not be carried out yesterday. The reason is, it's already night.

"Regarding the problem of the patient's refusal, it is not true. The patient is actually cooperative," said Febri.

"Actually, we were picked up last night only because the situation for evacuation was late. I'm afraid we have to be completely sterile. We have to wear all kinds of PPE. We don't pick them up immediately," he continued.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said the patient who was exposed to local transmission Omicron lived in Medan and went to Jakarta once a month. From existing data, this man and his wife arrived in Jakarta on December 6 last.

Then, on December 17th, they visited a restaurant in SCBD, South Jakarta, and on December 19th they tested positive for COVID-19.

"The patient and his wife did an antigen test and were declared positive because the person concerned was planning to return to Medan. Then PCR was carried out on December 20 and confirmation of omicron was obtained from the laboratory on December 26," explained Nadia.
