1.2 Million Vehicles Leave Jabotabek Before Christmas, Mostly Trans Java And Bandung Directions

JAKARTA - It was recorded that 1,276,008 vehicles left the Jabotabek area from December 17 to 24. The number of vehicles is based on data on crossings on four toll roads.

"A total of 1,276,008 vehicles left the Jabotabek area on D-8 to D-1 for Christmas 2021," said PT Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru in a statement, Saturday, December 25.

The four toll roads include the Cikupa Toll Gate (GT) (direction to Merak), GT Ciawi (direction to Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (direction to Trans Java and Bandung).

With the number of vehicles, said Heru, there was an increase in the volume of vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area. The increase was obtained after being compared with data in November 2021.

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Greater Jakarta area rose 7.6 percent compared to normal traffic for the November 2021 period with a total of 1,186,349 vehicles," he said.

Heru also detailed that of the millions of vehicles, most of them were heading to the East or Trans Java and Bandung. It was recorded that 587,503 vehicles passed the Cikampek Utama GT and Kalihurip Utama GT.

"For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek to the four directions, the majority of 587,503 vehicles headed for the East (Trans Java and Bandung, for the West (Merak) 398,923 vehicles, and 289,582 vehicles headed for the South (Puncak)," said Heru.
