Husband Snatched His Wife's Bag in Makassar Because of Jealousy

JAKARTA - Jainuddin alias Robi (40) snatched his wife's bag in Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel). The perpetrator is jealous because his wife was riding with another man.

"The perpetrator, Robi, snatched the victim's property. It was a bag containing goods and securities. The act was based on jealousy. At the location, the perpetrator saw the victim riding with another man," said the Rappocini Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Makassar, Iptu Nurtjahyana, Friday, August 21.

The mugging took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 19. The perpetrator was following the victim using a motorcycle on Jalan AP Pettarani, Rappocini District, Makassar. At the location, he seized the victim's bag containing gold, ATM cards, car keys, and other securities.

"The victim said that she had lost IDR 40 million," said Nurtjahyana.

The Rappocini Police immediately followed up the mugging case. The police arrested the perpetrator at his brother's house in Tamalate District, Makassar. They also secured the victim's evidence.

"The perpetrator and the victims are husband and wife. But it is not official because they do not have a marriage book," continued Nurtjahyana.

The evidence was a bag containing a wallet, car keys, and motorcycle keys used by the perpetrator. The perpetrator is detained at the Rappocini Police.
