The Gatotkaca N250 Aircraft Is Now A Collection Of The Indonesian Air Force's Mandala Aerospace Center Museum

JAKARTA - The Gatotkaca N250 aircraft entered a new history. The aircraft made in Indonesia in 1996 now has to enter a museum. The aircraft will be a collection of the Yogyakarta Mandala Aerospace Museum (Muspusdirla).

PT DI handed over the aircraft to the Indonesian Air Force as a follow-up to the Decree of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (SKEP) Number 284 / VIII / 2020 dated August 14, 2020 concerning the Assignment of Receiving Grant for PTDI's PA01 N250 Aircraft to be placed at Muspusdirla.

Reported from various sources, this aircraft is a regional commuter turboprop commuter aircraft, originally designed by IPTN (now PT Dirgantara Indonesia) Indonesia. The maker is Bachruddin Jusuf Habibie.

The N in this aircraft code means Nusantara, or Nurtanio which is the pioneer of the aviation industry in Indonesia. This aircraft was built in 1995, but production was stopped after the 1997 economic crisis.

Reporting from the website of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI), Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, who is the Chairman of the ICMI Honorary Council, said this aircraft was his first made aircraft.

"Thanks to hard work, we managed to get a plane for the first time, namely the N-250," he said while being moved at the National Museum, Jalan Merdeka Barat No 12, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 11, 2016.

This plane was made together with two other people on the orders of President Soeharto. The order came out when he had just graduated from his studies in Germany.

Now, the plane is housed in the Indonesian Air Force Museum. The hope is that this aircraft can inspire current and future generations.
