Christmas Mass At The Jakarta Cathedral Is Restricted, Only 40 Percent Of The Faithful Are Allowed To Attend

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Cathedral has limited face-to-face worship (offline) at the Christmas Mass of December 24 and 25, 2021, to only 650 people or as much as 40 percent of the church's capacity.

Public Relations of the Archdiocese of the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Susyana Suwadie, said the parishioners must be registered as members of the cathedral parish.

"As of December, Christmas capacity has reached 40 percent, from 20 percent since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is a total of 650 people," said Susy as quoted by Antara, Friday, December 24.

Susy explained that face-to-face worship is divided into three locations, namely 310 people in the church, 210 people in the hall and 130 people at Plaza Maria. In addition to ensuring that they are registered in the cathedral parish, people must also register for face-to-face worship through the belarasa.id website.

After registering on the compassion site, people will get a QR-Code which will later be used as access when entering the Cathedral.

"Later, the QR Code will be brought with the ID card, then there will be a PeduliLindung application that must be scanned," said Susy.

During worship, people are required to apply health protocols, namely to always wear masks, except when receiving communion.

This year's Cathedral Christmas theme is Christ's Love That Moves Brotherhood.

December 24th will be held three times, with the following schedule:

1. 16.00 WIB (online)

2. At 17.30 WIB (face to face and online)

3. 20.00 WIB (face to face and online)

December 25, 2021 will be held three times, with the following schedule:

1.At 09.00 WIB (Pontifical Mass, online, face-to-face and broadcast on TVRI)

2.At 11.00 WIB (online and broadcast by Kompas TV)

3. At 17.00 WIB (face to face and online)
