JAKARTA - The government has again extended the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) outside Java-Bali for 11 days. This extension is carried out by following the mechanism before Christmas and before the new year.

"Earlier we reported to the President that there would be an extension (PPKM, ed) from December 24 to January 3. This is 11 days following the nataru mechanism and based on the pandemic assessment level," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in an online press conference, Monday, December 20.

Airlangga explained that currently there are 191 regencies/cities that are included in PPKM Level 1. This figure, said Airlangga, increased from the initial figure of 159 regencies/cities.

"Then level 2 dropped from 193 to 169 regencies/cities. Next, level 3 dropped from 64 to 26 regencies/cities, and level 4 remained 0," he said.

Regarding the implementation of PPKM outside Java-Bali Island, all arrangements will be guided by the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 66 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Control of COVID-19 at Christmas and New Year.

"Except for things that have not been regulated according to the level of COVID-19 assessment in their respective regions," he concluded.
