SAR Team Evacuation Of 2 People Who Fall Into The Abyss In Ciamis

CIAMIS - The joint SAR team evacuated two people who fell into a ravine on Mount Bitung, Sukamantri District, Ciamis Regency, West Java, safely. The victim then underwent medical treatment.

"Earlier this morning, he was found safe, he was immediately taken to the Puskesmas," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Ciamis Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Memet, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 20.

He mentioned the two victims, namely Dadang Setiawan (55) a resident of Bandung and Din Din Wahyudin (48), a resident of Garut Regency, who were mired in the forest area.

The two victims, said Memet, were people who were looking for the site, but on the way they fell and currently their condition has received treatment at the health center.

"Both of them suffered minor injuries because they fell, then the two victims were rushed to the Gardujaya Health Center for medical treatment," he said.

Head of the Bandung Search and Rescue Office or the Bandung National SAR Agency (Basarnas) Deden Ridwansah, through a press release, added that his staff and other joint teams had been dispatched to the location and succeeded in evacuating the two victims.

"The victim was successfully evacuated by relay by the joint SAR team to the residents' villages in a safe condition," he said.

Based on reports in the field, two people fell into a ravine on Mount Bitung, Site Madati, Mekar Wangi Village, Sukamantri District, Ciamis on Sunday, December 19.

The two victims were traveling to the top of Mount Bitung, but on the way they fell into a ravine, a victim was able to communicate with the team on the ground via cell phone, while one victim was unconscious and needed evacuation.

The Tasikmalaya SAR Post Rescue Team was dispatched to the scene of the incident to pick up the victim at the pick-up point using a stretcher for further medical treatment.

"The survivors were taken to the Gardu Health Center, Panawangan District to have their health checked," he said.

The team involved in the evacuation process was the Bandung Basarnas through the Tasikmalaya SAR Post, Panawangan Koramil, Panawangan Police, Ciamis BPBD, Ciamis Tagana, Ciamis PMI, Ciamis RAPI, Panawangan Health Center, and local residents.
