DKI Pemprov Judged Discriminatory Allowing Crowds In OUR Declaration

JAKARTA - Din Syamsuddin together with a number of figures held a declaration of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE) by gathering a crowd at the Proclamation Monument, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Public policy observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah, wonders why DKI Pemprov has not taken any action, in this case especially Satpol PP.

Because, currently, DKI Jakarta is still implementing a transitional large-scale social restriction (PSBB) period. Where, all people are required to wear masks and maintain a safe distance when leaving the house.

"The Satpol PP as the health protocol supervisor must take action and disperse when there is a crowd," said Trubus when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, August 18.

The provisions of the health protocol are regulated in DKI Governor Regulation Number 51 of 2020. Article 8 states that every person who does not carry out the obligation to use a mask while on the move outside the home will be given sanctions in the form of social work or a fine of IDR 250 thousand.

Then, Article 16 mandates that all social and cultural activities are required to carry out the COVID-19 prevention protocol.

Among them are limiting the number of visitors to a maximum of 50 percent of the venue capacity, requiring the use of masks, conducting body temperature checks, and maintaining a distance of at least 1 meter (physical distancing).

Meanwhile, every event organizer who does not carry out these obligations will receive a written warning or a fine of Rp. 25 million, according to the level of violation.

"So far, Satpol PP has been diligent in imposing sanctions on individuals, but to groups like this being ignored, it means that this shows the inconsistency of rules and discrimination by the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government," explained Trubus.

On that basis, Trubus views that DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan must reprimand Satpol PP and give fines to the organizers of the WE declaration event.

As previously reported, Din Syamsuddin along with a number of figures including former TNI Commander Gatot Nurmantyo declared the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE). Din Syamsuddin emphasized that WE was formed to help deal with national problems.

In front of the masses, Din Syamsuddin emphasized that WE were formed as a moral movement. This movement aspires to uphold the truth and create justice for society.

Meanwhile, OUR declarator, Gatot Nurmantyo, touched on many things about the condition of Indonesia. Gatot talked about his journey several years ago regarding the vulnerability to the integrity of the nation.
