JakPro Calls The COVID-19 Pandemic The Toughest Challenge Of Revitalizing TIM

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Province Regional-Owned Enterprise PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) or Jakpro stated that the COVID-19 pandemic was the toughest challenge in the revitalization project of the Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta Arts Center.

TIM Revitalization Project Director, Lucky Ismayanti, said JakPro as the company leading the project, began carrying out the revitalization in mid-2019.

"Then we collided with pandemic conditions when in early 2020 until now, the implementation of this development certainly cannot be separated from mobilization," said Luky Ismayanti as quoted by Antara, Friday, December 17.

Luky explained that during the construction of a number of facilities and renovations at TIM, project activities could not be separated from the mobilization of people, equipment and materials.

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic that limits human movement will inevitably have a direct impact on development.

Before the pandemic, foreign workers who were brought to Indonesia could work immediately, but during the pandemic, they had to quarantine after traveling from abroad.

"Of course there is wasted time in the process. Not to mention the supply of materials that are fabricated outside, it turns out that the factory's activities are also limited," said Luky.

However, the TIM revitalization process is still running according to the target. Currently, a number of facilities have been used, namely the Amir Hamzah Mosque and the Park Parking Building.

Meanwhile, the Panjang building which consists of the Library, Gallery and Wisma Seni reached 99 percent with the finalization stage on the interior.

In other facilities, namely the Planetarium and Art Training Center, it reached 55.35 percent, the Annex Gallery reached 94.25 percent, Graha Bhakti Budaya reached 66.91 percent and Theater Pages reached 40.75 percent.
