JAKARTA - The National Border Management Agency (BNPP) has tightened the flow of incoming travel from abroad via cross-border post (PLBN) approaching the celebrations of Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022.
BNPP Secretary Restuardy Daud in a release received in Jakarta, Wednesday, explained that the regulations related to the tightening were conveyed through the Office Memorandum Number 0627/PWS.81.04/SES/12/2021.
The official memo was issued to follow up on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021 regarding the prevention and control of COVID-19 at Christmas and the New Year of 2022.
The tightening also includes Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), the aim is to anticipate the prevention and control of COVID-19 at PLBN.
"The Head of the PLBN Management Division is to coordinate tightening the flow of inbound travelers from abroad, including Indonesian migrant workers (PMI)," Restuardy said in an official memorandum reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 15.
Furthermore, this is in anticipation of the 2021 Christmas and New Year homecoming tradition of 2022 and maximizing the use of the PeduliLindung application in PLBN, following the instructions from the Deputy for State Boundary Management.
Not only tightening the flow of travelers in PLBN, a number of rules were also issued for employees within the BNPP.
Employees in the BNPP environment are asked to apply stricter health protocols (prokes) with a 5M approach (wear masks, wash hands with soap/hand sanitizer, maintain distance, reduce mobility, and avoid crowds).
For the 2021 Christmas celebration, employees are also asked to follow the regulations set by the Ministry of Religion.
Then, employees as much as possible celebrate the 2022 New Year individually or with their families.
Celebrate by avoiding crowds and travel, and doing activities in their respective neighborhoods that do not have the potential to cause crowds.
