Cipali Toll Road Manager Adds 2 Waterways To Anticipate Floods At Km 136

CIREBON - Management of the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road has added two waterways or box culverts on the Cilalanang River Km 136 to anticipate flooding due to overflowing water when extreme weather occurs.

"To anticipate inundation, we have added waterways from one to three," said General Manager of Operations of Astra Toll Cipali Suyitno in Cirebon, West Java, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 15.

Suyitno said the addition of the waterway in the Cilalanang River at Km 136 was to anticipate flooding on the toll road.

Remembering last year, said Suyitno, overflowing water from the Cilalanang River had hampered the speed of vehicles, because water entered the toll road, although it did not last long.

"This is our anticipation of facing extreme weather, so it doesn't happen again like last year," he said.

In addition, Suyitno continued, to anticipate disasters during extreme weather, his party has also prepared officers around disaster-prone points, such as landslides and floods.

The goal, said Suyitno, is so that when there is an incident that could cause obstacles on the toll road, it can be addressed immediately.

"We have mapped the vulnerable points, and have also prepared officers around the vulnerable locations," he said.
