JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appreciates the education program from the Ministry of SOEs that supports the realization of superior human resources (HR) in order to prepare Indonesia to progress.

With this educational program, said Sigit, it is part of the struggle to realize superior human resources as the ideals of President Joko Widodo in utilizing the demographic bonus that is in the future.

"The survey results show that Indonesia can manage the demographic bonus, manage existing human resources, utilize existing natural resources and how we can improve human resources, so Indonesia hopes to become the number 4 country in the world," said Sigit in the event of delivering college education assistance for sons. / daughter of the National Police from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 14.

Present at the event were the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir and high-ranking officials from the two agencies.

Sigit said the Ministry of SOEs continues to support educational programs in realizing superior human resources, including education programs at the National Police institution.

According to the National Police Chief, in preparing Indonesia to progress, it is necessary to develop a strategy in accordance with the President's direction to prepare superior human resources.

In addition, how to open up space for the investment climate by making laws that simplify bureaucracy so that they become part of accelerating and attracting investment, both from outside and within the country.

Based on projection data from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), he said, Indonesia was ranked fourth out of 10 countries with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 10.52 trillion US dollars in 2050.

"That number is below China, India and America," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief said the education program provided by the Ministry of SOEs always increases every year.

In 2020, for example, as many as 597 men/women of the National Police followed suit, then in 2021 it increased to 876 people.

"It is hoped that in 2022, this educational program can reach one thousand," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief also explained that the National Police are also doing the same thing by screening the nation's children who have achievements to become members of the National Police.

The National Police Chief hopes that the recipients of the education program from the Ministry of SOEs can become part of the Ministry of SOEs in the future.

"Perhaps there may be some who have extraordinary achievements and have the capabilities needed by SOEs, these younger siblings are candidates for large families and contribute to SOEs," said Sigit.

Not only that, the National Police Chief hopes that the synergy between the Police and the Ministry of SOEs and other Ministries will remain closely intertwined, one of which is the synergy between the National Police and the Ministry of SOEs in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the synergy between ministries/agencies and the community, according to Sigit, Indonesia is currently in a better condition in terms of controlling the rate of COVID-19.

"Indonesia is currently in good condition and this is our opportunity to get up immediately, and then synergize to create economic growth, which we can really encourage some time ago when there was a contraction," said Sigit.

Sigit also said that the National Police were ready to oversee the programs from the Ministry of SOEs to realize Indonesia's better economic growth.

Meanwhile, SOE Minister Erick Thohir said that the National Police is a state institution that continues to support and oversee all policies in various sectors.

"Since 2 years ago we thought about supporting the Police. Because we have a lot of cooperation with the Police on all fronts. It has been proven to this day how the Police are a good partner for us," said Erick.

Erick said that one of the concrete evidences that the National Police has always been at the forefront in handling and controlling COVID-19, among them is guarding the distribution of vaccinations.

"During COVID-19, distribution and even vaccination were spearheaded by the Police and the TNI," said Erick.

For the active contribution of the National Police, he said, the Ministry of SOEs provided educational assistance to the sons and daughters of the National Police.

"Therefore, 2 years ago, a program was launched to help the sons and daughters of the police whose rank was only the first officer to be assisted in their education," said Erick.
