SUMSEL - The Health Office of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra (OKU Sumsel) is pursuing a vaccination target of 22,347 residents who will be vaccinated over the next week.

"To achieve 70 percent of the vaccination target for OKU residents, there are still 22,347 people who will be vaccinated," said Acting Head of the OKU Health Service, Andi Prapto in Baturaja, Antara, Thursday, December 9.

Andi explained, based on data to date, the vaccination coverage of OKU residents was recorded at 61.7 percent or as many as 166,621 people who had been vaccinated with the first dose. Meanwhile, the coverage of the second dose of vaccination was recorded at 114,740 or 42.5 percent of the 269,955 targets.

To achieve the 70 percent target, his party carried out a vaccination acceleration strategy, namely by opening a vaccination service post in every village or sub-district in OKU Regency.

This service post will serve the community to be injected with vaccines for the first and second stages in order to accelerate the achievement of group immunity to avoid the COVID-19 virus.

The OKU Health Office also provides door to door services for vaccination participants who are difficult to reach, such as in remote villages.

"This service is carried out by picking up the ball to people who have not been vaccinated, especially the elderly," he explained.

Through these efforts, Andi is optimistic that the target of at least 70 percent will be achieved by mid-December 2021.

"Currently, there are 291,276 doses of Sinovac available, 29,980 doses of Astrazeneca, 8,470 doses of Moderna and 3,984 doses of Pfizer," he said.
