SINTANG - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini witnessed firsthand the disbursement of social assistance (bansos) for the Family Hope Program (PKH) and receipt of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) in Sintang, West Kalimantan.

Risma's visit to the Sintang District Head Office was carried out after accompanying President Joko Widodo in handing over social assistance to the people in Sintang.

"It's all disbursed, ma'am. Just take everything. For the interests and needs of women. The money is calculated, so it doesn't lose its value," said Tri Rismaharini, to residents who received social assistance at the Sintang West Kalimantan sub-district office, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 8.

Risma said that the social assistance was aimed at helping people who could not afford to meet their basic needs. "Make the best use of it, it's not allowed to buy cigarettes or liquor," Risma ordered.

Risma asked the state-owned bank, as the bank that distributes social assistance, to prioritize the disbursement of elderly citizens who receive social assistance.

He also asked the local government to carry out data accuracy. "Because the data is dynamic. Some have moved, some have died, or maybe they have changed clusters," said Risma.

Regarding the handling of the impact of disasters, the Ministry of Social Affairs has moved quickly to provide handling. Through the Disaster Preparedness Team (Tagana), the Ministry of Social Affairs cooperates with elements of disaster management to collect data on disaster-affected communities, evacuate vulnerable groups from less safe places to safe places, open public kitchens and distribute logistical assistance.
