JAKARTA - Masses of workers staged a demonstration in front of the DKI Jakarta City Hall Building. A number of labor representatives entered the building to hold an audience.

When they entered the City Hall, they hoped to meet with the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, to demand directly that Anies revise the decree (SK) regarding the 2022 DKI provincial minimum wage (UMP).

It turned out that the party who met the workers was a member of the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP). Then, the workers also met with the Head of the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency Andri Yansyah and the Head of the DKI Kesbangpol Agency, Taufan Bakri.

Therefore, after leaving the audience meeting room, a group of workers returned to the action gathering disappointed.

"We are disappointed because we had hoped to meet the governor but were met by the Head of Manpower Office and from Kesbang. Then a representative from TGUPP was added," said Chairman of the DPD Confederation of All-Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPSI) AGN DKI Jakarta William Yani Wea at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 8th.

William expressed disappointment experienced by the workers because they hoped to immediately get a schedule for the revision of the decree regarding the increase in the DKI UMP from Anies. However, unfortunately they did not get confirmation from Anies' men.

"There is no certainty. We don't blame the Head of Manpower and the Head of Bakesbangpol because their authority does not end there. The authority lies with the Governor," said William.

For information, today the workers held a massive action. They made two demands. Initially, the action plan was held in front of the Constitutional Court Building demanding an explanation from the Constitutional Court for the decision on the lawsuit against Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation which was declared conditionally unconstitutional.

Then, the action was continued in front of the DKI City Hall to collect Governor Anies Baswedan's promise to revise the DKI provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2022. This is because Anies promised to revise the governor's decree (SK) related to the UMP on the basis of justice.
