133 Wild Racing Motorcycles In Kediri Caged By Police

KEDIRI - Police officers from the Kediri City Resort, East Java, secured as many as 133 motorbikes during raids on illegal racing at a number of points.

"We control vehicles with 'brong' (noisy) exhausts. Many residents report that they are very disturbed at night. It's time to rest in front of the house in groups," said Kediri City Police Chief, AKBP Wahyudi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 7.

He said the raids were carried out to provide security and comfort for residents. What's more, residents in Kediri will soon carry out Christmas worship and the 2022 New Year celebrations.

The locations of the raid points also spread throughout the jurisdiction of the Kediri City Police, namely Pos Semampir, Jalan Mayor Bismo Kediri, intersection four mrican, Jalan Gatot Subroto, intersection four alun-alun on Jalan PB Sudirman, intersection four sukorame on Jalan Veteran and iskandar Muda intersection on Jalan Iskandar Muda, Kediri City.

In addition to securing motorbikes, the officers in the raids have also taken action against traffic violations as many as 541 violations consisting of 489 tickets and the remaining 52 violations were given warnings.

The police also secured 335 STNK sheets, as well as 21 driver's licenses of residents who were caught in the raid ahead of the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year celebrations. Currently, all of them are at the Kediri City Police Traffic Unit.

He also appealed to the public to bring vehicle equipment when driving. With that, when there is an inspection the officer in question can show the vehicle's documents, so they are not subject to a ticket.

"We urge users not to use the exhaust and also the completeness of the vehicle, please take it while driving," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Traffic Unit for the Kediri City Police, AKP Pandri Putra Putra Simbolon, said that the collection of evidence could be carried out after a trial at the Kediri City District Court and the payment of a fine at the Kediri District Attorney's Office.

Taking evidence of vehicles that do not comply with the specifications from the factory in order to bring a decision from the Kediri City Kejari and a copy of the BPKB, STNK, as well as the identity of the taker.
