DPR Appoints 56 Members Of The Special Committee For The IKN Bill

JAKARTA - The DPR has appointed 56 members of the special committee (pansus) on the Draft Law on the State Capital (RUU IKN) from 9 factions in a plenary meeting.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad admitted that the number of members of the special committee was more than what was determined by DPR Regulation No.1/2020 concerning Orders, which was only 30 people.

"In accordance with DPR RI regulation No. 1 of 2020 concerning the Standing Orders, article 104 paragraph 2 states that the number of special committee members is set at a plenary meeting of a maximum of 30 people," Dasco said at a plenary meeting at the DPR building, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 7.

However, continued Dasco, because the complexity of the substance will be discussed across sectors and across commissions, the consultation meeting in lieu of the Deliberative Body (Bamus) meeting on November 3, 2021 decided to form a Special Committee for the Bill on IKN with 56 members and 6 members of the Special Committee.

"The membership composition of the special committee for the bill on IKN is based on the balance and equal distribution of members, namely the PDIP faction with 12 people, the Golkar faction with 8 people, the Gerindra faction with 8 people, Nasdem 6 people, PKB 6 people, Democrat 5 people, PKS 5 people, PAN 4 people, and PPP 2 people," said the Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party as the leader of the plenary meeting.
