Central Java Sends Logistics And Volunteer Teams To East Java, Ganjar: Take Care Of Your Health, Don't Make It Troubled

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo acted quickly to help victims of the eruption of Mount Semeru in East Java. After holding a prayer with the students in Tawangmangu, Ganjar has now dispatched 50 volunteers along with logistical assistance worth Rp. 934 million to East Java.

The 50 volunteers consisted of various elements. These include volunteers from BPBD, PMI, SAR, Tagana, scouts, MDMC, LPBINU, health teams and so on. They will be assigned to the disaster site until December 12.

Meanwhile, the logistical assistance sent by Ganjar did not only consist of basic needs such as basic necessities, blankets, mattresses, medicines and others. However, Ganjar sent more specific assistance such as gloves, mukena, prayer rugs, folding mattresses, baby diapers, sanitary napkins, underwear, toiletries, generators, clean water to fresh vegetables.

Ganjar said, until Sunday (5/12) night his party continued to communicate with the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java regarding the Semeru eruption. He also communicated with a number of village heads around the mountain.

"Today we are trying to help our brothers and sisters in Semeru. From this humanitarian operation, I hope to lighten their burden," he said.

Ganjar is very proud because his staff is very quick to carry out humanitarian operations. When he said he would help the victims of the Semeru eruption, a number of agencies such as BPBD, PMI, BUMN, BUMD, Baznas, all volunteers immediately worked to gather strength.

"And today we are sending logistical assistance, there are food ingredients, gloves, mukena, women's needs, children including water tanks to East Java. Hopefully it can help," he said.

Ganjar said he would continue to communicate with East Java regarding developments. According to him, this aid shipment is the first shipment and it is possible that there will be further aid shipments as needed in the disaster area.

"So I asked my friends to check what the urgent needs were there so we could help. I have also communicated with the Governor and the Deputy Governor of East Java regarding existing developments. there and ready for BKO, right as needed so that everything is organized," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of Central Java BPBD, Safrudin said that logistical assistance and the volunteer team that had been sent had been coordinated with East Java. What assistance is needed and the specifications of the volunteers are in accordance with the needs.

"From our coordination, for the needs of refugees such as mineral water, food, biscuits, underwear, women's needs, gloves, blankets, mukena, prayer rugs, medicines, masks and so on. We also sent generators, water tanks and basic necessities with fresh vegetables. there," he said.

For volunteers, the volunteer team sent has a variety of expertise. Among them are handling logistics, public kitchens, health, carpentry for making temporary shelters, psychosocial and so on.

"For the time being, they will be on duty for a week. But we will see in the future whether an extension of time is needed, additional personnel and so on. We will continue to coordinate that," he concluded.

For your information, Mount Semeru in East Java experienced a major eruption. So far, according to data from the Surabaya Basarnas, 17 people died and dozens were injured.
