945 Brimob Personnel From The Polda Polda Jatim, Central Java, West Java And Bali Deployed To Help Semeru Victims

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ordered his ranks to assist in handling the eruption of Mount Semeru, Lumajang Regency, East Java, by sending 945 Brimob personnel to the location.

The 945 personnel assistance came from 210 Pas Pioneer Korpbrimob, 210 Satbrimob Polda East Java, 105 Satbrimob personnel from Bali Police, 210 Satbrimob Polda Central Java, and 210 Satbrimob Polda West Java.

"Maximize the deployment of members and equipment in disaster management, especially in residential areas/settlements for residents who need evacuation," said Sigit in a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday, December 5.

In addition to personnel, the National Police also sent equipment assistance in the form of SAR cars, field kitchen cars, "reapiter" cars, "water treatment" cars, ambulances, and other supporting cars.

"Pay attention to the security factor, personal safety, team and community affected by the disaster," said Sigit.

Sigit reminded his staff involved in the humanitarian operation of Operation Safe Nusa II in handling the Mount Semeru eruption disaster so that all handling activities comply with health protocol guidelines.

"Monitor the development of the situation, carry out coordination with BNPB or BPBD and related agencies," said Sigit.

The day before, on Saturday, December 4, the Ditsampta Korsabhara Baharkam Polri carried out a personnel readiness meeting by deploying 60 personnel, one SAR tactical vehicle, three double cabin service vehicles, and one truck to the disaster area.

Then, fielded six K9 sniffer dogs and 12 Satwa Police personnel to help search for victims of the Mount Semeru eruption.
