Police Will Dismiss Bripda Randy Bagus With Disrespect, Legal Process Continues

JAKARTA - Police are taking firm action against Bripda Randy Bagus, an individual member of the National Police, who was involved in the suicide case of Novia Widyasari, a student who was found dead beside her father's grave in Mojokerto, East Java, through dishonorable discharge (PTDH).

"Strict action will be taken whether the code of ethics trial is to be carried out with a dishonorable discharge (PTDH)," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday, December 5.

Not only that, said Dedi, Bripda RB will also be subject to criminal proceedings in accordance with the violations committed.

This is in accordance with the mandate of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who will not be selective in taking action against members of the National Police who commit violations, especially serious violations such as criminal acts.

"Polri continues to be committed to taking firm action against members found guilty," said Dedi, as quoted by Antara.

The National Police through the East Java Regional Police have detained and processed Bripda Randy Bagus, who is suspected of deliberately ordering Novia Widyasari to have two abortions.

Quoted from the official Instagram of the Police Public Relations Division, it is known from the results of police investigations, Bripda Randy Bagus and Novia Widyasari have been acquainted since October 2019. The two are dating, then have a relationship like husband and wife which will last from 2020 to 2021.

The National Police found evidence that the victim during her relationship with Bripda Randy Bagus from October 2019 to December 2021 had two abortions in March 2020 and August 2021.

For the actions of Bripda Randy Bagus, internally he violated the Perkap Law Number 14 of 2011 concerning the Code of Ethics and was charged with Article 7 and Article 11. Externally, he was charged with Article 348 Juncto 55 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of five years in prison.
