DPR Leader Asks BNPB And TNI-Polri To Move Quickly To Help Lumajang Residents

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, expressed his deep concern and condolences for the people of Lumajang, East Java who were affected and located in the radius of the eruption of Mount Semeru.

The DPR leadership in the field of Korekku asked the government, BNPB, TNI/Polri and relevant stakeholders to take quick steps to overcome this disaster. Especially doing rescue and evacuation for residents around Mount Semeru.

"Then, immediately set up emergency posts, provide basic needs, both clothing and food as well as medicines needed by residents," said Dasco, Saturday night, December 4.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra DPP asked the public to remain vigilant. "Hopefully this disaster will pass soon and we will all be given strength and fortitude by Him, especially for the people of Lumajang, East Java who are affected," he said.

Previously, the Regent of Lumajang Thoriqul Haq made an announcement on his Facebook account. This announcement is related to the impact of the eruption of Mount Semeru that hit the area.

In his personal Facebook account, Cak Thoriq - the Regent's nickname - announced the need for additional personnel or volunteers in the process of evacuating residents who were victims of the eruption.

"We hope that all of us who are at the location at this time are additional personnel for evacuation," said Cak Thoriq who was in Kamar Kajang Hamlet, Sumber Wuluh Village, Saturday night, December 4.

In addition, the video explains that the soil conditions in several hamlets in Sumber Wuluh Village are still being monitored for heat. The obstacle for the evacuation process, which was canceled on Saturday, December 4, at night, was the heavy ash rain.

Meanwhile, some of the location conditions have been flattened by ash from Mount Semeru. Furthermore, Thoriq stated that there were still around 9 people trapped in the worst locations in the eruption of Mount Semeru.

Therefore, the new evacuation will begin today, Sunday, December 5, his party needs additional volunteers in the process of evacuating a number of residents.

"I need additional volunteers. All my friends, the community who can help us with additional volunteers today, help us evacuate," he said.
