Christmas Celebration, Anies Monitors Seven Churches

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will carry out monitoring of churches on Christmas Eve celebrations, from late afternoon until evening. This monitoring was carried out with officials from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) such as the Head of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, the Regional Military Commander for the Indonesian Air Force, the Head of BIN DKI, the Chairperson of the Prosecutor's Office, the Chair of the High Court, and the Head of the Regional Office of the DKI Provincial Ministry of Religion.

Head of DKI Mental and Spiritual Education (Dikmental) Bureau Hendra Hidayat said, there were a total of seven churches visited. The details, four Protestant churches and three Catholic churches.

In the previous meeting, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government invited seven Christian church religious leaders and one archdiocese from priests and priests. This is to choose which Church to visit.

"We have contacted the churches. They are happy to wait for the presence of the Governor of DKI and Forkopimda. Given that this is a form of appreciation for Christians and Catholics who carry out Christmas," Hendra said when confirmed, Tuesday, December 24.

The monitoring activity of churches by the Jakarta Forkopimda, said Hendra, is to ensure that Christians can celebrate Christmas under a controlled security situation.

"People can carry out their worship solemnly. Then, we can have fun together and rejoice in welcoming Christmas," he said.

Furthermore, Governor Anies wanted to give a message that Jakarta upholds equality and togetherness for all religious communities. From that togetherness, there will be a sense of unity. "This is what we care for and protect," said Hendra.

1. St. Kristofarus Catholic Church, Jakarta, Jalan Satria IV Jelambar Village, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.

2. The Batak Protestant Christian Church (HKBP) Petojo Grogol, Jalan Kyai Tapa, Tomang, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.

3. The Catholic Church of the Kudus Family Rawamangun, Jalan Balai Pustaka Baru, Rawamangun, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta.

4. The Batak Protestant Christian Church (HKBP) Rawamangun, Jalan Balai Pustaka Baru, Rawamangun, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta.

5. The West Indinesia Protestant Church (GPIB) Inmanuel, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

6. Jakarta Cathedral Church, Cathedral Street, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

7. The West Indonesia Protestant Church (GPIB) Paulus Jakarta, Jalan Taman Sunda Kelapa, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
