JAKARTA - Jalan Lodan Raya, Pademangan, North Jakarta was isolated because it was submerged by tidal floods as high as 20 centimeters. The tidal tidal wave ran over Jalan Lodan Raya so that traffic access in the area was paralyzed.

According to residents, Lodan Raya Street was inundated due to the tidal wave, because one of the embankments on the beach broke. In addition to the paralysis of vehicle access, the flow of traffic in front of the entrance gate of the Sunda Kelapa port has also stalled.

Even though the access was isolated from the flood, there were also several two- and four-wheeled vehicles that dared to hit the puddle.

Hengki (38), a local resident, said that the tidal flood had inundated his area since 09.00 WIB. The tidal water that spilled onto Jalan Lodan Raya was an overflow of seawater from the Sunda Kelapa Harbor because there was a broken embankment.

"It hasn't been like this for a long time. This is because there was a broken embankment. Last year it didn't even reach the road, just inside the port," Hengki told reporters, Friday, December 3.

Hengki said that usually the tidal water would recede in the afternoon.

"It will not subside until the afternoon, but tomorrow it could be overflowing again," he said.

Hengki said that tidal water that overflows onto Jalan Lodan Raya is very rare. A number of shophouses on Jalan Lodan Raya were forced to close their businesses because the tidal water also soaked the stalls. Hengki was forced to close his motorcycle repair shop on Jalan Lodan Raya because the water had already started to soak his place of business.
