JAKARTA - East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa said that the cause of the accident was a Transjakarta bus containing passengers who crashed into the Traffic Police Post (Pos Polantas) PGC Cililitan which is at the crossroads in front of the Cililitan Wholesale Center (PGC), Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, due to the fall of a jack from under the driver's seat.

Then the jack hit the gas pedal so the bus drove and hit the Traffic Police Post (Pos Polantas)

"The jack of the bus was placed under the driver's seat, then it rolled on the gas pedal. So the busway hit the police post," said East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy to VOI at the location, Thursday, December 2.

AKBP Edy said that the Transjakarta driver was negligent in carrying out his duties. At the time of the accident, there were no members of the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit at the Polantas Post.

According to Kasat, his members were outside the Pospol at the time of the incident because they were controlling traffic flow.

"The (Transjakarta) driver was negligent. Inside the Pospol there is only one Transjakarta officer who is resting," he said.

The victim, named Pipit Sumaryanto, a resident of Pasar Rebo, was then evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Transjakarta passenger and driver survived the accident. The Transjakarta bus is then towed to the Transjakarta pull.

"The case is being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya. The evacuation of the victims has already been carried out by Satlantas officers who were at the location. The officers also unraveled the traffic jams around the location so that the flow would flow normally," he said.
