Khofifah Prays For Mario Suryo Aji To Win Moto3 GP

SURABAYA - Mario Suryo Aji (17) is the only racer from Indonesia who will compete in the Moto3 GP class of the 2022 Motorcycle Racing World Championship.

The young man born in Magetan was invited to Grahadi to meet East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Tuesday night, December 1.

Khofifah conveyed that she and the people of East Java were proud and happy with Mario's achievements, and wished him the best in order to bring the name of the region and the Indonesian people to international forums. He hopes that in the 2022 motorcycle racing season, Mario can become a champion.

"So that we can carry the name of Magetan, East Java, and position racers from Indonesia on a par with racers from around the world," said Khofifah in a written statement, Thursday, December 2nd.

The former Minister of Social Affairs really appreciates Mario's achievements in various motorcycle racing events. The hope is that Mario's work can inspire young people in Indonesia, especially the people of East Java. Khofifah also reminded that success is not enough to be achieved with practice.

"We need prayers and blessings from parents, closest family who will encourage Mario's success at this prestigious event," he said.

The Moto 3 GP world championship is a prestigious world event. Motorcycle racing which has the official name FIM Moto 3 World Championship is contested every year.

In this class, racers from various countries participated. Among others, Diogo Moreira, Matteo Bertelle, Elia Bartolini, Scott Ogden, David Salvador, David Munoz, Joel Kelso, Joshua Whatley, Taiyo Furusato, Daniel Holgado, and of course the Indonesian rider, Mario Aji.

Khofifah believes that good efforts and with the support of prayers from many parties can lead Mario to achieve the best achievements.

When he met Khofifah, Mario exchanged souvenirs. Mario gave the souvenir to Governor Khofifah in the form of a helmet with his signature. Meanwhile, Governor Khofifah gave a leather jacket made by Magetan which Mario immediately wore.

Khofifah hopes that Mario Suryo Aji will be successful and be able to bring Indonesia's name in the Moto3 motorcycle racing championship. Moto3 itself is one of the series or classes of the World Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Matio, a young racer born in Magetan, East Java, will appear in Moto3 2022 for a full season after being recruited by Honda Team Asia. Mario is the only Indonesian racer who will compete in Moto3 next season. This 17-year-old racer is known to replace Andi Gilang, who previously appeared for Honda Team Asia.

Mario has achieved various achievements since 2018. At that time he managed to win the top five of the 2018 Asia Talent Cup. In the same year he was ranked 6th in the Asia Road Racing Championship with the Honda CBR 250RR. "Indonesia, especially East Java, is very proud to have a racer like Mario, with his achievements. Since the age of 5, he has started a motorcycle racing career following his father," said Khofifah.

Khofifah also gave prayers and support to Mario so that he can continue to excel and become the best racer in the world. "Hopefully, I can confirm my intention as the best rider in the world. Keep it up, son Mario," he said.

Meanwhile, Mario Suryo Aji expressed his gratitude for Khofifah's welcome to him. The reception at the Grahadi State Building in Surabaya will motivate him to compete in Moto3.

"Thank you for your remarks, Mrs. Governor. This will motivate me even more to fight not only for East Java, but for all of Indonesia. Please pray for Mario's target to be achieved," said Mario.

Mario hopes for support to be able to compete at a higher level. Because, his goal is not only to become the pride of Magetan but also Indonesia as a whole.

"I really want to compete not only for Magetan, but also to make Indonesia proud. So I really hope for support from the Governor, my friends in the media and the Indonesian people," he said.

Regarding Moto3, Mario said that he and the team had prepared themselves for the upcoming races. Everything from food to motorcycle parts has been maximized.

"There is already a strategy and game plan, even for the weather that often changes and the arena is different. The team has also prepared to adapt to the setting of the place. Tires have also been prepared for wet and dry tracks. Food is also controlled. God willing, everything the team has prepared went well," he said.
