414 Schools In South Kalimantan Tapin Hold Face-to-face Schools

TAPIN - A total of 414 kindergarten, elementary, and junior high schools in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan began holding Face-to-face Learning (PTM) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Head of the Tapin Education Office, Irnawati, revealed that in order to reduce the risk of students gathering in groups who are prone to COVID-19 transmission, his party has implemented a time management system for their learning activities.

"Only 50 percent of the students were present. Teaching and learning activities start at 08.00 - 10.00 WITA, and students take turns attending school," he said, Wednesday, December 1.

The PTM was first carried out since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the local Education Office imposed strict supervision for compliance with health protocols.

"From today's monitoring, the implementation went smoothly," he said.

Schools are required to form a School COVID-19 Task Force Team, to supervise the implementation of health protocols in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The team is in each school. Their job is to measure body temperature, ensure there is no crowd among students, remind them to wash their hands before entering class and wear masks," he said.

If a student or teacher is found to be exposed to COVID-19, based on the policy of the Tapin Education Office, schools will be closed for 14 days. From the provisions, students and teachers who meet the requirements to be vaccinated are allowed to take part in teaching and learning.

"At least you have the first dose of vaccine, so you can go to school. For those who haven't continued to study 'online'," he said.

Overall vaccination of teachers in the area has reached 86 percent, while junior high school students who are required to vaccinate reach 60 percent of the total target.
