DPR Will Prepare Houses Of Worship For Non-seasons In The Parliament Complex

JAKARTA - The DPR is still considering the construction of houses of worship, apart from mosques and prayer rooms within the Parliament building. Even so, the DPR still guarantees the availability of religious facilities for the welfare of council members.

Deputy Chairman of the DPR, Rachmat Gobel, said that his party would try to find alternative places for followers of religions other than Islam so that they could continue to practice their beliefs.

"It could be, if that's really needed, why not. We provide facilities rather than welfare, people's comfort for working people, we have to prepare places of worship. If necessary, all religions exist," he said, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, December 23.

Gobel said, it doesn't have to be a new building. This is because the DPR can take advantage of the existing empty rooms that are not used as places of worship other than prayer rooms.

"Actually, there is no need to have (new buildings). There is an empty room that can be used. I also don't have a mosque in my factory. There is no church. But there is an empty space that can be used, a place of worship. Muslims pray on Fridays, Christians pray at empty space, be prepared, "he explained.

In fact, the construction of buildings for worship of non-Muslims in the area of the parliament complex has long been championed by PDI-P politician Maruarar Sirait.

The man who is familiarly called Ara admits that he has fought for it since the period of Chairman of the DPR, Setya Novanto, Ade Komarudin, to Bambang Soesatyo.

"In every commission there is already a prayer room. I want some of my friends who struggle to build temples, monasteries, and small churches in this place to show the DPR RI that all religions are acceptable," said Ara, at the DPR Building, Senayan. , Jakarta, Monday, September 30th.

The construction of places of worship other than mosques, said Ara, is to prove that the DPR is also a home for Pancasila. He admitted that he was disappointed because his wish had not been fulfilled until now.

"How do we want to build the perception that we really agree with Pancasila if the DPR building is for that matter, we have never agreed. We are of different ethnicities, different religions, but we are Pancasila. Let us first prove our Pancasila from the House of the DPR," he said.
