JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya will make the Jakarta area quiet during the 2021 Christmas and New Year holidays. The trick is to implement the Crowd Free Night policy.

"To prepare for Christmas and New Year's Eve, we plan to hold a crowd free night. We will make Jakarta quiet on New Year's Eve even though it is currently PPKM level 1," said the Director of Lantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Tuesday, November 30.

In the crowd free night scheme, not only protocol roads will be implemented. This is because several tourist attractions in Jakarta and its surroundings will also apply the scheme.

The reason is that tourist attractions are often the target of people to spend the turn of the year.

"Not only Sudirman-Thamrin but places that are often held for New Years, we also hold crowd free nights such as Ancol, Taman Mini, Kota Tua, Kemayoran, Kemang, Barito, BKT. crowd free night," said Sambodo.

However, Sambodo has not been able to detail the number and points applied to the crowd free night in detail. But, he said, the scheme lasted from 19.00 to 04.00 WIB on December 31.

"(Crowd free night point) Wait for the input from the Traffic and Traffic Units and intelligence," said Sambodo. Meanwhile, for Christmas security, continued Sambodo, no restrictions were applied. However, there will be checkpoints or check points.

Only about the conditions that will be checked by the officer so far can not be conveyed. Because, it is still waiting for a decision from the government.

"But what we are checking, we are waiting for the government, whether SIKM or enough with Peduli Protect or attaching a detailed sticker will be conveyed before December 24 when the candle operation begins," said Sambodo.
