DENPASAR - The Bali Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) responded to the alleged disappearance of two dolphins that had gone viral because they were ridden by Lucinta Luna.

Head of Conservation Area I BKSDA Bali, Sumarsono, explained that the dolphins that had been confiscated at that time were already in an unhealthy condition.

"Some of the dolphins that we confiscated were generally not in good health or usually had acute hepatitis that was not detected, seen from the slightly yellowish eye color. Because the old owners had exploited them excessively," said Sumarsono, in a written statement, Tuesday. , November 29.

According to him, the dolphin ridden by Lucinta Luna and his colleagues was in a malnourished condition or not eating enough because the visitors were empty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Never had a health check. There was no correct medical record. When we robbed some of them, they were sick

even though it looks healthy. KSDA Bali went awry. Those who are sick, if we don't confiscate them, they are wrong. If we let it go, it's wrong, if we take care of it and die in our hands, it's wrong, if we let go, it will be even more wrong," he said.

"So don't think that the dolphins are decreasing, they are considered lost because we sell them or we eat them. Besides, how do we sell such big dolphins in the market without causing an uproar in the market," continued Sumarsono.

According to him, the BKSDA had provided treatment to keep the dolphin alive. But it turns out the dolphin died.

"I didn't read the results of the necropsy or the autopsy. But what is clear is that he died not because he was killed. We have treated Wong intensely, we love it, we are monitoring it, the goalkeeper is waiting day and night not to die, UNUD (Udayana University) friends back and forth to help, because we love state assets.
