SIGI - Regent of Sigi, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Mohamad Irwan asked all village heads (kades) to take part in overcoming various regional problems, especially poverty, stunting and unemployment.

"Through village funds, the village government is expected to be able to more quickly solve problems in the village, especially those related to poverty alleviation, stunting and unemployment," said Mohamad Irwan in Sigi, Antara, Monday, November 29.

Mohamad Irwan hopes that the Village Fund managed by the village government in the area, which is sourced from the APBN, can support the achievement of regional development priorities.

Mohamad Irwan stated several development priorities held by the Sigi Regency Government, including alleviating regional poverty, preventing and reducing stunting (dwarf) cases and reducing unemployment.

According to Mohamad Irwan, the availability of budgets in villages that are sourced from the APBN and APBD, must be able to intervene in these three things, in order to realize the health and welfare of the community.

He also mentioned that currently the Sigi Regency Government through the Village Community Empowerment Service in collaboration with village community empowerment experts, initiated an agribusiness-based cash labor-intensive program.

Through this program, villages are encouraged to form Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), which are expected to be able to drive the economy of rural communities in the agriculture, forestry, plantation and fishery and livestock sectors.

"BUMDes is a driver of the village economy which has an impact on reducing unemployment, alleviating regional poverty," he said.

Regent Mohamad Irwan wants BUMDes to be strengthened and optimized in order to support the competitiveness development of potential sectors managed by the community in the area.

The Head of Village Community Empowerment (PMD) of Sigi Regency Andi Wulur said the implementation of cash labor-intensive programs in villages was intended to increase people's purchasing power.

"In addition to increasing people's purchasing power, of course, we hope that together we will reduce malnutrition, reduce poverty, move the village economy, and develop rural areas, especially in areas in Sigi Regency," he said.
