Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Asks Researchers To Pay Attention To The Quality Of Research Products

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked all researchers to pay attention to the quality of research products produced and follow standard test procedures before marketing their research products to the public.

"I hope researchers and innovators continue to pay attention to the quality of the products they produce. I also hope that researchers can go through the stages according to existing procedures," said Ma'ruf Amin when opening the commemoration of the National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas). 25 in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, August 10.

According to him, doing research and creating innovative products is not easy. There are many stages that must be passed until the research results can be marketed and useful for the community.

When it comes to research on medicines, Ma'ruf hopes the researchers apply the right clinical trial standards.

"I urge researchers to go through the steps according to the procedure before it is commercialized. Do not let a new innovation be commercialized, but without going through the steps according to the procedure; what is more important is that the product should not be harmful to its users," he said.

The Vice President said that researchers in Indonesia have actually created many innovative products, but few of them have been successfully marketed.

"One of the reasons for the unsuccessful commercialization of these innovative research products is that there are still very few researchers working domestically," he said.

Ma'ruf said that the Government has allocated a large enough budget for research and innovation, but the number of research resources in Indonesia is still insufficient, namely only 89 people per 1 million population.

Therefore, the Vice President hopes that with the Hakteknas commemoration, the Indonesian people will be increasingly aware of the importance of innovation and research in meeting the needs for technological development.

"I consider this Hakteknas important in encouraging a culture of innovation in the country. I hope that this event can encourage a culture of innovation in Indonesian society," he said.
