SERANG - Banten Police Chief IJP Rudy Heriyanto appealed to church officials to obey the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Number 62 of 2021 regarding the prevention and handling of COVID-19 during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Rudy said, there are several obligations that must be fulfilled by church administrators during worship and Christmas celebrations.
"In accordance with Inmedagri No. 62 of 2021 in organizing worship and Christmas 2021 celebrations, there are several points that must be met by church administrators, one of which is the church must form an independent COVID-19 Task Force to supervise health procedures, disinfectants, use Care Protect, regulate congregation mobility, provide facilities wash hands and hand sanitizer, provide body checks and practice social distancing," said the Regional Police Chief in a statement received on Monday, November 29.
The Minister of Home Affairs also regulates the implementation of worship during the Christmas celebration.
"Worship is carried out simply by prioritizing fellowship with family and limiting the number of congregations to a maximum of 50 percent of the capacity of the congregation," added Rudy.
Rudy hopes that in carrying out the Christmas celebration, church administrators can fulfill and obey the rules that have been issued by the government through the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"This rule was made based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 62 of 2021, of course, this must be carried out by all Indonesian citizens for the common interest to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19, so that Indonesia avoids the 3rd wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic," concluded Rudy.
