Involved In A Drug Case, Police Officers At The Ternate Police Are Threatened With Disrespectful Dismissal

MALUKU - The North Maluku Regional Police (Malut) stated that a member of the police serving at the Ternate Police Brigadier Brigade Muh Eko who was involved in a drug case was threatened with dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).

"This Bripka police officer Muh Eko was sentenced by the Ternate District Court to be proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing a crime or violating the law in a drug abuse case, so he was threatened with dismissal from the police institution," said Head of Public Relations of North Maluku Police, Kombes Adip Rojikan in Ternate, as reported by Antara, Sunday, November 28.

Every police officer who has committed a violation, namely a drug offense, will certainly face a professional trial. In the ethics trial, the level of violations committed by the individual was assessed. The highest sanction is Disrespectful Dismissal (PTDH).

"Of course, the person concerned must be in PTDH and for anyone, especially active members of the Police who are involved in drugs, this is the toughest threat and it is very possible that the person concerned can be in TPDH," he said.

The case of Bripka Muh Eko is registered with the number PDM-92/Terna/Enz.2/08/2021. For Evidence (BB) 1 sachet of methamphetamine type with a metro weight of 0.17 grams. Police officers during a urine test by investigators from the Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Dit Resnarkoba) of the North Maluku Police turned out to be positive.

In the trial, Bripka Eko was proven to have violated Article 127 paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 35 of 2015.

Previously, the Ternate District Court (PN) sentenced a police officer with the initials Bripka Muh Eko to one year in prison in a case of shabu abuse. In that case, the defendant as a user with a weight of only 0.17 grams and he was arrested was positive for drugs, the assessment was because of the user.
