MANOKWARI - The West Papua High Prosecutor's Office for Arresting Fugitives (Tabur) has arrested the Director of PT Fourking Mandiri with the initials BT, a suspect in alleged corruption in the electricity network expansion project at the Mining and Energy Office of Raja Ampat Regency in 2010.

West Papua Prosecutor's Intelligence Assistant Rudy Hartono said the Prosecutor's Office team arrested BT at one of the boarding houses on Jalan Karet Pedurenan Raya, Number 60 Setiabudi, South Jakarta, Thursday, November 25.

"This Friday afternoon, the suspect BT arrived in Manokwari, under the strict control of the West Papua Prosecutor's Office, using one of the commercial airlines," said Rudy Hartono, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 26.

BT's arrest was made based on the Investigation Order of the Head of the Sorong District Attorney Number: Print-1761/R.2.11/Fd.1/10/2021 dated November 9, 2018.

Rudy said BT acts as a third party or implementer of the Low and Medium Voltage Electricity Network Expansion Project at the Mining and Energy Office of Raja Ampat Regency for Fiscal Year 2010 with a state financial loss of Rp1,360,811,580.

According to him, the process of investigating the split (splitsing) was hampered because the suspect BT was absent three times when summoned by the investigating prosecutor to the Sorong District Prosecutor's Office.

"BT has been properly summoned as a witness by the investigating prosecutor of the Sorong District Attorney's Office, but BT has never come to fulfill the summons that has been submitted," he said.

Because the suspect was disobedient, the Sorong District Attorney's Office placed BT on the People's Wanted List (DPO), and the search effort was intensified in collaboration with the West Papuan Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General's Office.

"In collaboration with the West Papua Prosecutor's Office, assisted by the Attorney General's Office, we succeeded in capturing the suspect BT from his escape in South Jakarta. From the West Papua Attorney General's Office in Manokwari, the suspect will be handed over to the Sorong District Attorney for investigation purposes," he said.
