SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) has received a report of an ASN person with the initials RT who is suspected of committing ASN recruitment fraud. Although it has been reported to the city government and the police, the Surabaya City Government has not been able to act because it is waiting for the legal process.

"Because the domain is criminal, we (the city government) cannot move, if there is no decision or commitment (with permanent legal force) from law enforcement officials," said Head of Public Relations of the Surabaya City Government, Febriadhitya Prajatara, in Surabaya, Friday, November 25. .

Febri emphasized that the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) has not been able to give strict sanctions, even though it has received reports from victims regarding the alleged fraud.

According to Febri, the Surabaya City Personnel and Education and Training Agency (BKD) can only impose sanctions on ASN in terms of staffing, including temporary dismissal or non-jobs.

"So for now the city government has not been able to take steps, and is still waiting for a decision from the APH. We (city government) can temporarily suspend an ASN when an ASN is detained for court proceedings. employment," he said.

Until now, continued Febri, the Surabaya City Government has not received any information from law enforcement officials regarding the status of the reported ASN.

"We haven't received any information from law enforcement officials whether the person concerned is detained or not, we don't have one yet," he said.

If the legal process is clear, Febri ensures that the Surabaya City Government will take action. The rules regarding ASN violating the sanctions have been regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline (PNS).

"If later there is an inkrah or a verdict from the court for how many years, then the city government can only determine what kind of employment sanctions will be given by the city government," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the victims of fraud, named Edo Edward, said that the alleged case of ASN fraud by an ASN member of the Surabaya City Government with the initials TR began in June 2021. The perpetrator of TR, said the victim, offered to one of the victims named Edo to work as an ASN in the Surabaya City Government.

"TR subscribed to an online car motorcycle taxi that I used. Initially, TR offered a position in the ASN to my friends, but the condition was that they had to pay Rp. 150 million per person. There were around nine victims," he said.
