The National Police Does Not Implement Level 3 PPKM Insulation For Christmas-New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that they did not apply the insulation scheme in securing the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year holidays. During this holiday period, the government imposed a level 3 PPKM.

"Overall, in this operation, we did not do any insulation," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Thursday, November 25.

The absence of isolation, said Ramadhan, does not mean that the Police have not done anything. The police will focus on security.

However, the pattern or security scheme has not yet been conveyed to the public. Currently the scheme is still in the process of being discussed.

"The pattern that will be carried out later is being prepared by the operations staff at Asops," said Ramadhan.

For the time being, the information that can be conveyed on Christmas and New Year's security is limited to the establishment of security posts. However, the number and point of the post have not been confirmed yet.

"Security posts, Nataru," said Ramadhan.

For information, the government will implement the PPKM Level 3 policy as a whole in Indonesia during the Christmas and New Year holidays. This is done to prevent an increase in COVID-19 cases.

"During the Nataru holiday, all of Indonesia will apply PPKM Level 3 rules and regulations," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy.

This decision was taken at the Ministerial Level Coordination Meeting to Anticipate the Potential Increase in Covid-19 Cases on the Christmas and New Year Holidays which was held online.

Muhadjir said the policy was carried out to tighten the movement of people and prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases. Later, all regions in Indonesia that are in PPKM Level 1 and 2 must implement the PPKM Level 3 rules.

This policy is effective from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2021. "So there is national uniformity. There has been an agreement, the rules that apply in Java-Bali and outside Java-Bali will later be uniformed," said Muhadjir.
