Centrally Disbursed Budget, Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Encourages Riau Islands Provincial Government To Dress Up Natuna

NATUNA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian supports efforts to accelerate the development of border areas in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province. This support is shown through the development budget distributed by the central government to the provincial government.

"Well, we have recap, the central government makes whatever, we have held a meeting before leaving," Tito said after attending the Coordination Meeting on State Border Management at the Natuna Regent's Office as reported by Antara, Wednesday, November 24.

Tito said that the central government had provided the development budget through the provincial government. With the limited fiscal capacity in the Natuna border area, Tito appealed to the Riau Islands Provincial Government to 'beautify' Natuna.

The Riau Islands Provincial Government can help accelerate development through the preparation of programs for the Natuna Regency including through the distribution of grant funds.

According to Tito, the central government has recorded what must be done to accelerate development in Natuna. "It's just a matter of evaluating which ones have been done and which ones haven't," said Tito.

A number of steps to accelerate development in Natuna include the construction of 38 base transceiver stations (BTS) by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), improvement of educational facilities by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemenkominfo). Ministry of Education and Culture) and improvement of market facilities by the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).

Tito explained that his visit with Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD was also to accommodate various problems faced by members of the TNI and Polri at the Natuna border.

These problems include the availability of old defense equipment and support for operational needs for the resilience of border areas.

"Because the task of BNPP is coordination, so we will coordinate under the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs," he said.
