Instead Of Paying Fines, Traffic Violators At OKU South Sumatra Are Directly Injected With Vaccines

JAKARTA - A breakthrough was carried out by the Resort Police of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra. Two- and four-wheeled vehicle traffic violators will be given a vaccine ticket in the 2021 Musi Zebra Operation.

"As a substitute for a ticket, people who violate traffic are vaccinated against COVID-19," said Police Chief Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo in Baturaja, Tuesday, November 23.

He said, in the vaccine ticketing activity, his party collaborated with the Health Medicine Section (Sie Dokkes) of the OKU Police which was carried out during the 2021 Musi Zebra Operation until November 28, 2021.

Sie Dokkes Polres OKU in collaboration with the Traffic Unit carried out ticketing activities for people who violate traffic such as not wearing a helmet and not carrying a vehicle certificate.

Violators who violate traffic and have not been vaccinated will be given a ticket in the form of a COVID-19 vaccination on the spot.

The activity, which was centered at the Simpang Empat Ramayana Baturaja, recorded 58 traffic violators from teenagers to the elderly who were successfully vaccinated.

The details of the vaccination targets include the first dose of 43 people, the second dose of two people, six elderly people, five elderly people and two teenagers.

"Incidentally, all violators who have been prosecuted have not participated in the COVID-19 vaccination, so as a substitute for fines for their violations they are directed to take vaccinations, but previously we asked for approval in the sense that there was no coercion. Those who have been vaccinated will still be dealt with according to the rules," he said, quoted from Antara.

After obtaining approval from the violators, people who violate this rule are directed to Post 903 of the OKU Police Traffic Unit to be injected with the vaccine.

"This vaccine ticketing activity will continue during the 2021 Musi Zebra Operation with a target of 70 percent of citizens' vaccinations," he said.
