The Shooter At The Panton Reu Police Post Was Shot When He Wanted To Run Away From The Toilet

JAKARTA - An alleged shooter at a police post in Panton Reu, West Aceh Regency, died after being shot for resisting officers and trying to escape when he was about to be arrested.

Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Police Commissioner Winardy, said the shooting of the perpetrators occurred when a joint team raided a hideout for the group suspected of shooting the Panton Reu Police Post, West Aceh Police.

"The suspect who was shot had the initials AH, 56 years old. However, when he was given help and taken to the hospital, he died on the way," he said, Tuesday, November 23, quoted from Antara.

AH tried to escape by jumping the bathroom wall. However, when he was ambushed against the officers, the police had to paralyze him.

He said apart from AH, there were also two other people in the hiding place, namely AD (61) and CA (53). AH and AD are suspected of planning the shooting of Pos Pol.

Meanwhile, CA provides protection and shelter to the perpetrators and both have now been detained for questioning.

Winardy said an officer was injured in the raid. At that time, the perpetrator with the initials AD fought the officers when he was about to be arrested.

"The army resisted and stabbed the officer using a bayonet. However, the bayonet hit the body armor and slipped under the left armpit which caused the officer to suffer minor injuries. Then, the officer took firm and measured action on both legs," he said.

The mid-level police officer said the raid was carried out by a joint team from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police, the West Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit, and the Aceh Special Detachment 88 Satgaswil, Monday (22/1), at around 13.20 WIB.

He said the raided place was in Pasie Raya District, Aceh Jaya Regency. The raid was carried out after a joint team investigated it since three weeks ago.

"Previously, the public informed that a house in the Pasie Raya area was used as a hiding place for the alleged perpetrator of the shooting at the police post," he said.

Regarding the shooting at the Panton Reu Police Post, he said the police had arrested four suspected perpetrators. The police are also continuing to pursue several other perpetrators who have been named on the wanted list or DPO.

"We urge those who are still being chased to surrender immediately. We have already pocketed their names. The police will not hesitate to take firm and measured action if there is a fight when they are about to be taken into custody," he said.

He explained that the motive for the attack and shooting was because they felt disturbed by the police who often take firm action against illegal mining in the area.

"The attacks and shootings did not disturb Aceh's security and social security. Overall, the situation in Aceh is very conducive and the Aceh Police are ready to guarantee security for every investor who wants to invest in Aceh," he said.

The police post at Panton Reu, West Aceh Police, was shot by an unknown person, Thursday (28/10) at 03.15 WIB. The results of the investigation of the crime scene, the police confiscated shells and several bullet projectiles with caliber 7.62 mm x 39 and 5.56 mm x 45.
