Central Jakarta Police Officer Who Was Hit By A Drug Dealer In Cirebon Is Now Being Treated At Carolus Hospital

JAKARTA - The condition of a member of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, 1st Insp. JM is currently stable after being hit by a drug dealer in Cirebon, West Java.

"The condition has stabilized and is being treated at Carolus Hospital, Salemba," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Setyo Koes Heriyanto, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.

1st Insp. JM, was injured when he was hit by a drug dealer while pursuing a "rest area" 208B Cirebon, West Java, on Sunday morning at 06.00 western Indonesia time.

Meanwhile, the Head of Drugs at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner of Police Indrawienny Panjiyoga, said that 1st Insp. JM suffered a fracture in his leg.

Until now, his party has not made any arrests because the pursuit of the suspect is still ongoing.

"Not yet (secured)," he said.

Commissioner of Police Indrawienny said that the ranks of the Narcotics Investigation Unit were still pursuing two drug dealers.

"We are still chasing, about two people we are chasing," he said.

However, evidence of meth weighing 35 kilograms was successfully confiscated.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Grand Commissioner Hengki Haryadi explained that the pursuit of this drug dealer began with the disclosure of a robbery case that afflicted a Basarnas employee until her death on October 22, 2021.

"The Narcotics Investigation Team of the Central Jakarta Police is looking for a methamphetamine dealer who is suspected of often supplying perpetrators of violent crimes in the DKI Jakarta area," said Hengki.

According to Hengki, the use of meth or methamphetamine causes criminals to lose fear, empathy, and excessive enthusiasm before committing their actions.

Therefore, continuous use of methamphetamine can cause psychological problems, such as anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations, and aggressiveness.
