Disabled Woman Allegedly Raped, Residents Surround The Suspected Perpetrator's House, Police: Still Under Investigation

JAKARTA - A number of residents raided a house suspected of raping women with disabilities on Jalan Batu Kinyang, Batu Ampar, Kramatjati, East Jakarta.

The information circulated on social media. There are three perpetrators. However, as a result of the raid, the alleged perpetrators managed to escape.

The head of the Kramat Jati Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Sutikno, confirmed the incident.

"Yes, that's right. The case has been handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police," AKP Sutikno told reporters, Friday, November 19.

Sutikno could not provide further information regarding the alleged rape. He only said that the police were looking for the alleged perpetrator.

"Please ask the East Jakarta Police," said Sutikno.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Erwin Kurniawan when contacted by reporters explained that the arrival of residents to the house was provoked by unclear information.

"Because there are wild rumors circulating, but the police officers from the Kramat Jati Police have been able to inform them," Erwin said when contacted, Friday (11/19/2021).

Until now, said Erwin, his party is still investigating the alleged perpetrator.

"So far, it is still being investigated. The initial suspicion is that it is a case of adultery, not rape," said Erwin.

In line with Sutikno's remarks, Erwin said that his party was investigating three people at the East Jakarta Metro Police. The three people were the complainant, the wife of the complainant, and one person whose house was raided by residents.
