239 Registrants Did Not Pass The Administrative Selection Of KPU-Bawaslu Candidates For 2022-2027

JAKARTA - The Selection Team for Candidates for KPU and Bawaslu Members for the term of 2022-2027 has conducted administrative research on candidates for KPU and Bawaslu members. This administrative file was carried out on November 10-16.

The Head of the South Kalimantan KPU and Bawaslu Candidates, Juri Ardiantoro, revealed that the number of applicants for the election organizers was 868 people.

"There are 492 KPU registrants. If we go into details, there are 359 men and 133 women. Meanwhile, there are 376 Bawaslu registrants. The details are 282 men and 94 women," said the jury at a press conference at the Ministry of Home Affairs and broadcast virtual, Wednesday, November 17th.

Of the total registrants, the jury said as many as 239 people were declared not to have passed the administrative selection for KPU and Bawaslu members.

"Registrants who do not meet the administrative requirements as candidates for KPU members are 140 people and Bawaslu are 99 people," said the jury.

Thus, there were 629 applicants who passed the selection in this administrative stage. Candidates for KPU members passed the administrative selection as many as 352 people, consisting of 255 men and 97 women.

Meanwhile, candidates for Bawaslu members who passed the administrative selection were 277 people, consisting of 207 men and 70 women.

Furthermore, the jury explained a number of factors that caused the registrant not to meet the requirements. First, there are applicants who are under 40 years old. Then, there are also applicants who have not yet become undergraduates.

"The most prominent thing is that they are not yet 40 years old, there are quite a lot of them. Besides age, there is also education. There are several applicants who have not yet passed S1," said the jury.

The second factor is that there are applicants who have the age and requirements for the last formal education that meet the requirements, but their administrative files are incomplete. It also causes registrants not to pass the administrative selection of KPU-Bawaslu candidates.
