Rizieq Shihab Issues Detained In Underground Prison, Police Ensure Good Facilities, 24 Hours Use AC

JAKARTA - The National Police has straightened out the issue regarding Rizieq Shihab who was placed in an underground detention cell. The underground context in question is the basement.

"Understanding underground is basement. But basement is very decent. It's the same as this room. Health standards have been measured. So understanding underground doesn't have any connotations in the ground," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Monday, November 15th.

Even though Rizieq's cell is in the basement, Ramadhan said, there is no difference in facilities with other detainees. All in accordance with applicable standards.

"So the position of the basement of the building is like that. But the condition is that there is still an AC room," said Ramadhan.

"It's a decent building. It still uses AC, and the AC is 24 hours. So the treatment is the same. So in principle there is no difference, there is no discrimination from one prisoner to another. There is no difference," he continued.

In fact, Ramadhan also stated that all health facilities were provided. Thus, it does not discriminate Rizieq from other prisoners.

"We give all rights. If we are sick we give treatment, we give places of worship," said Ramadhan.
