So The Cause Of Floods In North Kemang, South Jakarta City Government Calls Owners Asking To Dismantle The Buildings Himself

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta City Government (South Jakarta City Government) will summon the owner of the building above the North Kemang aqueduct, Bangka, South Jakarta.

The summons was made regarding the alleged violation because the building stands on a water channel connecting the Mampang River.

"We are working on it. We are currently working on it early by the Bangka Village. We are inviting the owner at the Bangka village head office," said Mampang Prapatan Djaharuddin sub-district head when contacted in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, November 15.

Later the owner was asked to dismantle the building because it was suspected to be one of the triggers for flooding in the area.

"It's because the building is rather sturdy. It's an appeal to dismantle it yourself," he said.

Previously, the South Jakarta City Government (South Jakarta City Government) would map buildings that stand above waterways so as not to disturb the flow of water that could potentially cause flooding.

South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin said his party had combed a number of houses that stood above the area's waterways.

"What is clear is that we will first map the canals, especially those that are closed on top. It interferes with river flows. When there is garbage, mattresses carried by water will get stuck there. We will slowly comb through it. ," said Munjirin in his statement.

According to him, the South Jakarta City Government will approach those living in the area.

"Later, we will do the mechanism according to the SOP. We will find the location later, we will make an approach," said Munjirin.
