JAKARTA - A resident of Windujaya Village, Banyumas, Central Java, Slamet Riyadi (50) was buried by a 4-meter-high and 10-meter wide talut while working to repair road drainage in Windujaya Village.
Coordinator of Tagana Banyumas Regency, Ady Candra, said that the landslide was suspected because the bottom foundation had eroded.
"The victim and eight colleagues were repairing road drainage in Windujaya Village at 11.00 WIB and the weather was cloudy with no rain," Ady explained in Purwokerto as reported by Antara, Monday, November 15.
Ady said that the landslide had buried up half of Slamet's body. The victim then screamed for help from his colleagues who were repairing the drainage.
Fortunately, the victim was rescued by his colleagues and brought home.
"We who received the information immediately went to Pak Slamet Riyadi's house and took him to the Kedungbanteng Health Center. Based on the results of the examination, the victim only suffered bruises on the legs, so he was allowed to go home," he said.
According to him, the landslide also closed the drainage which was under repair. For a temporary measure, it is to cover the part of the landslide that has fallen by using a tarpaulin.
"The avalanche material will be removed later while waiting for the weather to not rain. In addition to Tagana, the personnel involved include the Scouts Care Kwarcab Banyumas, Banyumas Regency BPBD, Windujaya Village Apparatus, and assisted by local residents," he said.
