JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokwoi) congratulated Papua Province, which is almost certain to become the overall champion of the XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) in 2021.

In recording the medals of Peparnas Papua as of Friday, November 12 night, Papua won 114 gold medals, 72 silver medals, and 75 bronze medals.

He was accompanied by Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, to Presidential Special Staff Angkie Yudistia.

Jokowi hopes that the match on the last day will run smoothly and can be closed with the successful implementation of the National Tournament in Papua.

"We hope that, with the Peparnas that we have gone through well, I would like to congratulate Papua, the first of which has successfully held the PON and the second has succeeded in holding the Peparnas," said Jokowi.

Continuing, Special Staff of the President Angkie Yudistia said that Jokowi's presence at the closing of the National Tournament was a form of support for athletes with disabilities from all Indonesian contingents.

"Mr. President also always advises all fellow athletes throughout Indonesia to always increase their potential," he said.

Angkie said Jokowi was proud of all athletes with disabilities. Angkie believes this athlete is capable of competing and showing his potential like athletes in general.
