Police Reveal Shabu And Thousands Of Ecstasy In Lubuk Linggau From Medan

LUBUK LINGGAU - The Resort Police (Polres) of Lubuk Linggau City, South Sumatra, revealed a drug case obtained from the hands of suspect Niko Rahfika (31) from Medan, North Sumatra.

The thousands of drugs consisted of methamphetamine weighing 13,722 kilograms (Kg), 2,200 ecstasy pills, 1.6 kg of green powder and 50 grams of cocoa powder suspected of being ecstasy.

Lubuk Linggau Police Chief AKBP Nuryono said, based on the confession of the drug suspect, it came from Medan, North Sumatra, which was sent by courier.

The suspect met to receive the drugs from a courier in the Priuk intersection area, Lubuk Linggau City. Then, hundreds of illegal goods were brought home by the suspect.

"Meanwhile, according to the drug suspect, he came from Medan. Received from courier two months ago. We are still investigating because it is known that this suspect is a recidivist," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 12.

Meanwhile, the Head of Drugs at the Lubuk Linggau City Police, Iptu Hendri, said that the suspect Niko was a resident of Jalan Depati Said, Lubuk Linggau Ulu Village, Lubuk Linggau Barat II District, Lubuk Linggau City. He was arrested on Tuesday, November 9 evening at his home.

During the arrest, the officers obtained evidence of thousands of kilos of narcotics estimated to be worth Rp. 14 billion which was stored in the warehouse behind his house.

To investigators, the suspect admitted that he had been selling drugs for approximately two months since he received the drugs.

The drug distribution area is not only Lubuk Linggau but also targets North Musi Rawas and Musi Rawas Regencies.

“That way, it is possible that there are other perpetrators. Currently, personnel are still investigating where the drugs were distributed," he said.

For his actions, the suspect is subject to Articles 114, 112 of Law (UU) Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum threat of the death penalty.
