Jambi Police Receives Report Of Fraud Sale Of Houses Under The Guise Of Sharia

JAMBi - Jambi Police has just received an official report from a victim of a fraudulent case of selling a house under the guise of sharia by a BR housing developer in Kenali, Kota Baru, Jambi City. The number of victims reached 40 people with losses estimated at Rp. 1.6 billion.

"Later, when the reports of the victims are finished, I will publish the case, and at this time investigators are still receiving reports from the victims," said Director of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jambi Regional Police, Kombes Kaswandi Irwan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 10.

Meanwhile, dozens of residents of Jambi City who were victims of housing developer fraud under the guise of sharia, the hospital had reported the case and there were an estimated 40 people who became victims with losses ranging from Rp. 20 million to Rp. 120 million.

From information from Ita Rosita, representatives of the victims who had reported this case to the Jambi Regional Police, said the total loss of the victims reached Rp. 1.6 billion and there were 40 people who she knew had become victims of the developer.

"For certain data, there have been 40 victims, and on average, if there is a credit, there are those who take a down payment of Rp. 25 million, with monthly installments of Rp. 1 million, and there are those who buy in full or cash around Rp. 90 million," he said.

The number of victims could still increase because it is estimated that there are still victims who live outside the city of Jambi and have not been recorded again. For the total money that came in, Rp. 900 million from customers who bought their houses on credit and Rp. 700 million from cash customers.

Rosita admitted that she suffered a loss of more than Rp. 60 million, with an initial down payment of Rp. 25 million and then she paid Rp. 1 million per month for 10 years, while the installments entered the 17th month and she realized that she had become a victim, after the housing authorities did not finish building her house.

Meanwhile, another victim, Amiati, said she had made a report to the Jambi Police. on Tuesday, November 9 and the police have asked for his statement and he suffered a loss of Rp36 million for buying a house in BR.

"Earlier we were asked for information on fraud and embezzlement and later we have to present witnesses from my family that I have made a credit contract there," said Anta while still at the Jambi Regional Police Headquarters.

"Hopefully the case can be resolved quickly and the Jambi regional police can immediately handle it," he said.
