Good News From Mas Minister Nadiem, Persons With Disabilities Are Prioritized To Receive College KIP

JAKARTA - Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudriset), Nadiem Makarim said that students with disabilities are prioritized to be recipients of the Indonesian Smart Card (KIP) lectures.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture has provided a quota of scholarships for students with special needs through the Higher Education Affirmation or Special Children with Disabilities and prioritizes people with disabilities as recipients of college KIP," said Nadiem in "Kemenkeu Teaching 6" which was monitored in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 9.

In addition to these scholarships, the government also has Superior Scholarships and scholarships from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) for students with disabilities to continue their studies up to doctoral level.

Nadiem said the access of students with disabilities to higher education is guaranteed in the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Regulation Number 46 of 2017 concerning Special Education and Special Service Education in Higher Education. Universities may not refuse students with disabilities to study at their campuses.

Nadiem asked all students of the Ministry of Finance Teaching, consisting of students with disabilities, not to stop trying to achieve their goals.

“Me and the Kemendikbudristek Team never stop trying new things, ensuring that younger students can study happily through the Free Learning Movement. I want to see my younger siblings become Pancasila students who can achieve their future goals and dreams, and become the pride of Indonesia and the world," said Nadiem.

Therefore, he asked all students not to give up and keep trying even though they have failed many times.

He gave an example of the metal band Voice of Baceprot with three young female personnel who are now going to tour around 8 cities in 4 European countries, who never give up in achieving their dreams in the music field.

“I'm sure there are many younger siblings here who can play music, have sports talent, and like to make works of art. I'm sure you have high aspirations, want to be like VoB or other friends in the international arena. I will tell you how to become an outstanding student, which is to keep trying,” he said.
