Fisherman Lost In Cileungsi River, Joint SAR Team Continues To Search

JAKARTA – A 35-year-old man was declared missing while looking for fish in Cileungsi River, Bogor Regency. The victim, named Edi Suryadi, allegedly fell into the water and was dragged by the current of the Cileungsi River, which at that time looked heavy.

According to witness statements, the incident began when the victim was fishing with a friend using a homemade boat in Cileungsi River. On the way home, the victim tried to stop the boat by holding a bamboo on the riverbank, so that he fell into the stream.

Friends of the victim tried to help but to no avail. As of Tuesday, November 9, morning, the search for victims was still ongoing.

Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC), Hendra Sudirman said, after receiving information about the incident, the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office sent personnel to the scene to search for victims. The search continues by increasing the search radius.

"We have sent a rescue team to the scene, complete with water SAR equipment to search for victims since Monday 8 November, yesterday afternoon," said Hendra as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation to VOI, Tuesday 9 November.

The search was divided into two areas, where the first SRU conducted a search using a Rubber Boat within 5 KM from the scene.

"The second SRU conducted a visual search of the land route with a distance of 3 KM from the scene of the incident," he said.

In this search, his party involved joint SAR elements from the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, Gunung Putri Police, Bogor Regency Fire Department, Bogor Regency BPBD, Bekasi City BPBD, Gunung Putri Koramil and Gunung Putri Muspika as well as several other elements.
